The first question that everyone asks me when I tell them am a spurs fan is, do spurs really have fans in India!?
Well, what can I say not everyone supports the clubs that win trophies, some fall in love with the way a team plays, well they fell in love with the football, not the trophies. And no wonder spurs is the second favourite team of most of the football lovers. Well, some Ajax fans, city fans, and most and most of the arsenal fans beg to differ, and after last few years who can blame them!
In my story I was a big fan of Edgar Davids, when he moved to spurs I also started following the club, the way spurs played with the relentlessness and vigour; showing off the beauty of attacking football throughout the 90 minutes regardless the scoreline was a joy to watch. Thus staying true to the bill Nicholson philosophy going for the glory of the game by playing beautiful football. It was like 100% entertainment guaranteed with a pure passion for football. So when people started asking me which football club you support I didn’t have to think twice to name Tottenham.
Another thing is I always have a weak spot for academy graduates of football clubs, probably due to playing career mode in FIFA, I loved the city academy before taking over, them villa, Leeds, Southampton, united, etc, but spurs always give more chance to the academy graduates from old days itself. The three lions team of most generation showcases that, in fact, it shows that spurs never tried to buy the glory, which is a prestigious fact for any club in any country; contributing to the national team.
I was lucky enough to watch the Pochettino’s men in the first game of the 2019 preseason in the Singapore national stadium against Juventus, it was really a dream came true. And the Kane Goal from the halfway line was icing on the top.
Regardless of what the future holds I love the fact that am a spurs fan, Tottenham till I die. COYS!
